Project Title: Trashouch: A Temporary Trash Pouch for Children
Brief:
Trashouch a unique pouch for children to keep trash temporarily. Simple early training from littering. In addition, parents can also contribute by giving rewards to children who are discipline in throwing trash into the dustbin. A person's behavior developed from habits that are formed since childhood and influenced by the attitudes and behavior of parents (Hastuti et al., 2011).
Key Issues:
Litter is considered a social and environmental problem, aesthetically offensive, a threat to the environment, and increasingly expansive (Clark et al., 1972; Huffman et al., 1995; Schultz et al., 2013; Wever et al., 2006).
‘About 60 percent of the 32 million Malaysian population still fail to throw their garbage into trash bins although the facilities have been adequately provided for them’ ( “Zuraida: Improper waste disposal, littering still a habit among Malaysians | Malaysia | Malay Mail,” 2019).
Development:
Trash pouch is an innovation to help disciplining kids to care for the environment by doing their duty in littering properly and encouraging parents to support them through rewarding points.
Impact:
Short term impact children will be using the Trashouch and long-term impact improvement in littering habit among Malaysians.
