Project Title: SnapCharity (Donation Platform Using Mobile Application)
Brief:
SnapCharity, the donation platform using mobile applications and it is a one-stop center for Malaysian people to donate and get donation items under one roof. The items can be in any category. In this project, people just need to download the app, upload, add, or snap the images of donation items. This app will help NGOs, volunteers and public donators to gather the items in one place. Here, they are focusing on the target audience in the urban community.
Key Issues:
As many of the consumers are still unaware of the sustainable consumption and disposal methods, the ineffective disposal of textiles are now becoming an increasingly serious problem in many parts of the world.
Development:
This donation platform will promote sustainable urban local and national policies, support better spatial planning and design, to optimize density, connectivity, and diversity.
Impact:
Results show that the diversity of mobile phone use and the frequency of rational mobile communication are positively associated with mobile donation. Mobile donation helps to overcome age, race, and SES gaps, giving members of disadvantaged social groups a more accessible tool for civic engagement. Internet donation and mobile donation complement rather than compete with each other.
