Project Title: Enhancing Special Need Secondary School’s Science Textbook Using Augmented Reality
Brief:
Special needs are the population that shouldn’t be left behind. Their motivation and self-esteem are always down because they are not capable to understand and have a normal learning in class. They need extra support and an alternative way of learning because the traditional method does not always work. Towards the 21st century, students preferred a technology approach and one of them is an Augmented Reality. By enhancing the science textbooks using Augmented Reality for special needs, they can get real experience 3D model of what they learn instead of a plain image. This type of learning can be done anywhere, anytime. Special needs students, who are faced with a hard time in learning not only understand better, but increase their motivation and self-esteem as well. In this study, researchers aim to develop Augmented Reality by using their science textbook as a learning material and focusing on secondary school.
